Computer Forensics PI's should have well-tested and licensed software. There are established procedures in handling computer evidence and the high technology issues that are part of many civil and criminal cases. This software is specific for computer forensics.

NOTE:  It is a good idea to become familiar with the term "forensics copying" and how this technique is invaluable during "electronic discovery."
 
The use of good quality computer forensics software and hardware will make the case, and create very successful testimony and discovery. The opposition won't be able to use the "improper software" or "unlicensed software" defense.  Always ask the Computer Forensics P.I. if all of the computer forensics hardware and software was legally licensed and/or obtained.

High technology investigative training and experience will get the digital evidence and present the digital evidence found with computer forensics software and hardware. A good "arsenal" or "tool box" of computer forensics hardware and software can easily cost $60,000.  To get your data into court computer forensics  software, hardware, and presentation equipment are a MUST.
